Work Highlights

Assisted a leading embedded credit platform in resolving a dispute arising from fraudulent conduct by a digital learning platform, that misused its credit facilitation services by creating fictitious users and misrepresenting of customer data.

Advised one of the world’s largest chargeback management service providers, and its Indian affiliates, with a dispute arising out of corporate espionage, theft of trade secrets and personal data which resulted in a ground-breaking precedent from the Delhi High Court.

Assisted a full stack API banking and credit management platform in responding to multiple First Information Reports filed in connection with fraudulent activities carried out by third-party merchants onboarded on its system, successfully demonstrating the client’s non-involvement and regulatory compliance.

Assisting a leading NBFC-ICC specialising in distressed asset acquisition with defending regulatory proceedings before the Reserve Bank of India arising from a disputed portfolio purchase from a leading bank, and are currently representing the client in mediation preceding commercial litigation involving allegations of data misrepresentation and transfer of zero-value accounts.

Representing a former member of the Board of Directors of Indian Overseas Bank in a high-stakes matter involving charges brought against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Represented a leading payments and banking solutions provider on a high-stakes, multi-million-dollar enforcement action arising from its alleged involvement in an online gambling racket – raising a first-of-its-kind legal question on a payment gateway’s liability under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, and its KYC obligations as a Payment Aggregator.
